Love a little kick in your cuppa? Here's a cheeky seven cocktails that are made with Bamboo Cocos tea in only four steps or less! And guess what? They're all vegan friendly too!

Hey tea lovers, if you’re anything like me – a complete and utter tea fiend – you get excited when you see a new low carb, full flavoured hard iced tea stocked in the aisles of your local bottle shop.


You reluctantly spend the ridiculous amount showed on the price tag in hope that you’ve found your new fav ‘half healthy’ drink of choice….only to be disappointed.


The drinks are too small for the price, they claim to not be too overly sweet and yet you still get a nasty sugary hangover. Or…they’re just not tasty at all, ok at best.


So, you venture to your local cocktail bar to treat yourself…why not you’ve worked hard this week, you deserve it.


But then you look at the menu. Far out!! They know how to charge for a single drink right!?

And you don’t want to bleed your wallet dry just to enjoy a few tasty cocktails! So you just….well, go with ‘good ole faithful’. That bottle of wine or six pack that never disappoints and isn’t too pricey.

7 Hard Tea Cocktails using the Bamboo Cocos tea range

IN FOUR SIMPLE STEPS


Blood Orange Bliss Margarita


Ingredients:

Two shots of brewed and chilled Blood Orange Bliss tea

Shot of good quality tequila – Espolon Tequila Blanco

Shot of blood orange Cointreau

Three shots of freshly squeezed blood orange juice – roughly one blood orange (bottled juice is fine also)

Black sea salt for the rim

Serve with a wedge of blood orange


Directions:

1. Line the rim of a chilled margarita cocktail glass with black sea salt. Regular sea salt is fine if you can’t find black sea salt. Sugar is also a perfect alternative for those with a sweeter tooth.

2. Half fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add Blood Orange Bliss tea, tequila, blood orange Cointreau and freshly squeezed blood orange juice.

3. Shake, shake, shake!

4. Strain into cocktail glass and serve with a slice of blood orange.



Lemon Myrtle Gin Fizz


Ingredients:

Two shots of brewed and chilled Lemon Myrtle Lovers tea

One and a half shots of gin – Ginfusion lemon myrtle elderflower tonic recommended

Half shot of simple syrup (see instructions below)

Soda water to top glass

Serve over ice with a wedge of lime.

Lemon myrtle sugar rim for the glass (optional)



Directions:

1. Make simple syrup. In a small pot, heat one cup of sugar and one cup of water on the stove until all sugar has dissolved then sit aside to chill completely – *This needs to be made in advance to allow for cooling. Yield: 1 1/3 cups. The simple syrup can be stored in fridge for up to 3-4 weeks in an air tight container.

2. In a cocktail glass filled with ice, add brewed and chilled Lemon Myrtle Lovers tea, gin, simple syrup.

3. Top glass with soda and serve with a wedge of lime.


Lemon Myrtle Sugar (optional)

Ingredients – yields several glasses (dependent on size)

4 tablespoons white sugar

1-2 fresh lemon myrtle leaves


Directions:

Put all ingredients into a mortar and pestle and pound until combined. Alternatively, put all ingredients into a bowl and pound with a wooden rolling pin or something similar.

Wet rim of glass and roll in sugar.



Arctic Fire Spritz


Ingredients:

Two shots of brewed and chilled Black Arctic Fire tea

Sparkling Rose – Jacobs Creek Sparkling Rose recommended

Shot of vodka – Vodka O recommended

3 strawberries - one extra for garnish

Dash of grenadine

Garnish with fresh mint and strawberries





Directions:

1. Muddle 2 strawberries in the base of glass with a muddler or wooden handle. Add brewed and chilled Black Arctic Fire tea and vodka

2. Add ice

3. Top with sparkling rose and a dash of grenadine

4. Garnish with fresh mint and strawberry



Sleepy Sundaze


Ingredients:

Three shots of brewed and chilled Butterfly Beauty Sleep tea

Two shots of good quality vodka – Vodka O is recommended

Soda to top glass

I tablespoon of maple syrup

30ml freshly squeezed lemon (roughly half a small lemon)

Fresh lavender or berries to garnish (optional)




Directions:

1. Brew Butterfly Beauty Sleep tea with maple syrup until honey is dissolved. Then chill.

2. Fill tall glass with ice. Add chilled Butterfly Beauty Sleep Tea, Vodka and top with soda an inch or so from the top of the glass and stir.

3. With a handheld citrus squeezer, squeeze the juice of half a small lemon over the top of the glass. (Alternatively, squeeze the juice prior to making cocktail and pour over the top)

4. Watch the colour change before your eyes! Garnish with fresh lavender and a couple of your favourite berries.


Ginger Kisses Mojito


Ingredients:

80ml brewed and chilled Ginger Kisses tea

Two shots Spiced rum – Sailor Jerrys recommended

Soda water to top

2 sprigs of fresh mint

One tablespoon of brown sugar (or coconut sugar)

One lime

Ice

Rim the glass with ginger mint sugar (optional)



Directions:

1. Cut lime into quarters, set one quarter to the side.

2. Rim the glass with ginger mint sugar (optional) *See below for instructions on how to make it.

3. In a tall glass add spiced rum, brown sugar, three lime quarters, leaves of one sprig of mint (approx. 10-12 leaves). Muddle in the base of glass. (You can use a proper cocktail muddler or alternatively, the handle of a wooden spatula or something similar)

4. Add some ice, brewed and chilled Ginger Kisses tea and and top with soda water until full.

Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a last wedge of lime



Ginger Mint Sugar (optional)

Ingredients – yields several glasses (dependent on size)

4 tablespoons white sugar

Pinch of powdered ginger

4-5 fresh mint leaves


Directions:

Put all ingredients into a mortar and pestle and pound until combined. Alternatively, put all ingredients into a bowl and pound with a wooden rolling pin or something similar.

Wet rim of glass and roll in sugar.



Baileys Campfire Whip

Ingredients:

Two and a half shots of brewed and chilled Aussie Campfire Breakfast (or more for whip as desired)

Two shots of dairy free Baileys Irish Cream

Shot of Vanilla Vodka – Absolut recommended

Two scoops of dairy free vanilla ice cream. Add more or less for desired thickness. Coles vegan vanilla bean recommended.

Dash of oat milk (optional)

Ice

Cinnamon to dust over top for garnish

Dairy free whipped cream (optional). Coles has a great range!


Directions:

1. In a blender two shots of Aussie Campfire Breakfast tea, shot of vanilla vodka, two shots of dairy free Original Baileys, 2 scoops of dairy free vainilla ice cream (more if thicker consistency desired), a small handful of ice.

2. Blitz it all up! Add a little oat milk or dairy free ice cream to make it to your desired consistency.

3. Pour cocktail into a chilled tall glass and top with dairy free whipped cream. Garnish with a light dusting of cinnamon and serve immediately.




Elderflower Mar-TEA-ni


Ingredients:

Shot of Brewed Deep Detox & Cleanse Tea

Shot of Elderflower Liquor – Edinburgh recommended

Shot of good quality gin – Malfy Pink Gin recommended

Half shot of dry vermouth – Noilly Pratt recommended

Half shot of freshly squeezed lime juice

Serve with a twist of lime peel.



Directions:

1. Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice, add all ingredients.

2. Shake, shake, shake away!

3. Strain into a chilled martini glass.

4. Serve with a twist of lemon peel (optional)
